Advanced airliner lands at AMRC

27 November 2014

One of the most advanced airliners in the world has 'landed' at the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing.

Sir Michael Arthur

The President of Boeing UK and Ireland, Sir Michael Arthur, took the opportunity of his first visit to the AMRC's Advanced Manufacturing Centre to present a model of the Boeing 777X twin-aisle aeroplane.

The presentation was in recognition of the research partnership between Boeing and the AMRC, now extending to technologies applied to this new aircraft, which will be the largest, most advanced and efficient twin-engine jet in the world.

Sir Michael is pictured presenting the model of the 777X to AMRC executive dean, Professor Keith Ridgway CBE.
