AMRC receives Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award

19 May 2014

The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre is proud to announce that it has received a 2013 Boeing Performance Excellence Award.

The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognise suppliers which have achieved superior performance. The AMRC maintained a Silver composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period, from 1 October 2012, to 30 September 2013.

This year, Boeing recognized 582 suppliers who achieved either a Gold or Silver level Boeing Performance Excellence Award. The AMRC is one of only 459 suppliers to receive the Silver level of recognition.

Professor Keith Ridgway CBE, research director at the AMRC, says: "To receive this award again is tribute to the continued commitment of everyone at the AMRC to developing new tools and technologies for Boeing and its suppliers. With our new capabilities in design and prototyping, and the state-of-the-art AMRC Factory 2050 due to open next year, we are better placed than ever to lead the world in innovative research that delivers real value to industry."

The AMRC previously received the Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award for 2011. It was also recognised as Boeing Supplier of the Year 2010 in the International (Technology) category.
