AMRC team races for life

11 June 2014

AMRC staff have raised over £3,500 for cancer research, with support from tooling company Technicut.

'AMRC A Team ladies'

The 'AMRC A Team ladies' - an all-female team of engineering and administration staff including Elizabeth Breslin, Gemma Fraser, Lucia Hardy, Jess Harrod, Kareema Hilton, Sue Marshall, Sharon Pearson, Chris Ridgway, Emma Smith, Alexia Wattam, Sylwia Wiaderna and Emily Wood - took part in the Cancer Research 5K Race For Life at Sheffield's Meadowhall Centre on Sunday 8 June.

The ladies easily topped their £1000 sponsorship target, and so far have raised over £1,800 for Cancer Research UK.

And Technicut, the Sheffield-based manufacturer of rotary cutting tools and a founding Tier One member of the AMRC, has offered to match their total.

Alexia Wattam, HR administrator at the AMRC, said: "The AMRC A Team ladies are really grateful for all donations that are made by colleagues, family and friends to help such a great cause as Cancer Research, but the kindness shown by Technicut has really inspired us as a team and we hope their generosity inspires others to donate."

You can still support the team by visiting their Just Giving page. Or if you would like to sponsor by text, send OXYV73 to 70070 to donate £5.
